Royal Patron for association

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, FRI: The first General Meeting of the Young Entrepreneurs Association Brunei, held here today, confirmed YAM Pengiran Muda Abdul Qawi, Executive Deputy Chairman of QAF Sdn Bhd, as its Royal Patron. The meeting, among other things, announced the confirmation of the YEAB executive committee for 2000 - 2001. The newly-installed eight YEAB Executive Committee members announced the appointment of three leading business figures to its advisory council. Members were also informed of the past and future activities of the association, such as conducting workshops, seminars, team-building activities for members, creation of the members' directory and website, active participation with relevant government bodies to foster entrepreneurial skills, etc.

The meeting was followed by a short reception to enable members to meet each other and view information on YEAB website, www.yea-brunei.com. The association intends to bring together young entrepreneurs who represent the driving force in develo- ping the future economic growth in the country, it was stated. It also intends to promote the general interest and welfare of young entrepreneurs in Brunei Darussalam, and provide a forum for exchange of ideas and experiences of young entrepreneurs. It also aims at promoting entrepreneurship among the local youth and encourage and promote continuing education among young entrepreneurs in Brunei. This apart, YEAB would be providing its members with opportunities for meetings and activities of cultural, educational, social, commercial and recreational nature.
