YEAB Gains Support of HSBC and QAF Brunei

The 7th AGM of Young Entrepreneur's Association of Brunei (YEAB) was held on Saturday at 4.30pm at the residence of one of its members.  During the AGM, Lisa Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, the president of the Association informed the members that two corporate sponsors have confirmed so far, for this year. Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation  Limited is the YEAB Platinum Sponsor and QAF Brunei Sdn Bhd is the YEAB gold sponsor.  The sponsorship received will used to facilitate YEAB Activities or events during the year 2008.

Since this was a voting AGM, the results of the election of the Executive committee announced the results of the election of the executive committee for 2008/2009.  The president will be Hajah Mazrina bte Hj Md Yussof, and the Pg Izad Ryan bin Pg Haji Bahrin as Vice-President.  The other posts are Secretary, Frances Lo, Assistant Secretary, Tan Keng Soon, Treasurer Yvonne Kuan and Assistant Treasurer Caroline Ang. There are also two Committee Members namely, Azlan Mike Skinner and Saiful Arief DH Abdul Razak.

YEAB to hold discussions with BEDB, MIPR

The Young Entrepreneurs Association of Brunei (YEAB) held their 7th annual general meeting recently at the residence of one of its members where a discussion of the association's upcoming events and activities for the year was held. 

During the meeting, it was said that the association's last activity was the first committee meeting for the Asean China Young Entrepreneurs Workshop which was held last month and the president further reported that the association will be holding a meeting with the Anti Corruption Bureau early this month.  This year, the YEAB is also hoping to conduct meetings with the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and a second dialogue meeting with the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR).

5 take part in China Programme

Five bruneian youths have been chosen to participate in the 2008 Asean China Youth Visiting China Programme at the invitation of the All-China Youth Federation. Led by Pg Sabri Pg Hj Mohammad, Deputy director of Youth and Sports Department, they left yesterday for China where they join other delegates from Asean.

During the week-long programme, the youths will visit local universities, take part in environment protection activities and hold talks on current issues regarding the youth population.

Asean, China entrepreneurs meet in Brunei for workshop

Asean-China Young Entrepreneurs Workshop launched

The opening session of the Asean China Young Entrepreneurs Workshop was launched by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade, Pengiran Dato Paduka Osman bin Pg Hj Petra, yesterday.

The June 18-20 event brings together delegates from Asean member countries and China to lay groundwork for the formation of an Asean-China young Entrepreneurs Association.

it is hoped that the level of business exchange, particularly in joint investments, around Asean countries and China would increase once the Asean-China Young entrepreneurs Association has been formed.

Asean-China workshop for young entrepreneurs
